The silver birthday box
This piece was commissioned as a 40th birthday present.
After seeing some of Hamish’s smaller silver boxes at an exhibition, the client wanted a larger piece in a similar design.
They provided specifications on wood, size and the primary function of the box. And gave Hamish free reign within that brief to explore form, finish and texture.
The client was over the moon. Turning 40 is a milestone for anyone, and this unique gift was a great way to remember the moment in style.
The American hourglass
Commissioned by an American client, this was an interesting brief that caught the imagination.
Not only did the piece have to work as an hourglass, the illustrations were an unusual feature for Hamish.
His work doesn’t usually incorporate those kind of elements. But, with commissions, ask and you shall receive.
Hamish loved the challenge, and unusual nature of this piece. He’s thankful this client gave him the time of day.
The silver wine coaster
The brief for this piece was short and sweet.
“Hexagonal Wires, Wine Coaster, Heavy”.
This gave Hamish free reign to explore. He produced three distinct designs, discussed them with the client and worked to make it perfect.
What you see here is the result of collaboration and effort to ensure the client loved their custom piece.
